Deko is an exceptional leader and innovative thinker with a breadth of knowledge and expertise spanning the solar-energy and microgrid industry. Since joining Azimuth Energy in 2016, Deko has advanced his expertise through senior engineer, project manager, lead estimator and vice president of operations. In early 2023, he became President and CEO.
Deko provides a keen focus on engineering quality assurance, electrical system design, process and construction efficiency, and contractor management. He has worked on the engineering design for multiple MW solar projects, large utility-scale battery plants, and microgrids. Deko has led the engineering and commissioning for commercial rooftop PV arrays, utility PV farms with grid-tied batteries, and PV carport projects. He has designed and managed solar, energy storage and microgrid projects in the US and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining Azimuth Energy, Deko worked for the Washington University Office of Sustainability on its renewable energy expansion. He assisted in the management of building energy efficiencies and multiple distributed generation PV projects across the campus portfolio. His training includes significant expertise in solar-cell architecture and circuit design. This has made him a leader in microgrid controls, operation of circuit analysis software, AutoCAD design, PVSyst and Helioscope energy modeling, among other software design tools.
